Sara's Code of Light Initiation
Annual Pilgrimage to Honor Saint Sarah-la-Kali

Each year in the second half of May, the Romani community gathers to venerate Saint Sarah-la-Kali, "Sarah the Black," who protects the Romani people wherever they live. This sacred gathering takes place in the French township of Les Saintes Maries de la Mer in the south of France.

Thousands of Romani families—from the elderly to young children—travel from various European countries and beyond to participate in this profound event. The pilgrimage transforms the tranquil town into a vibrant medieval celebration.

During this time, the streets and beaches come alive with traditional Gypsy music, colorful processions, and heartfelt singing. Families unite, friends reconnect, and children are baptized in the Church of Holiness, honoring the saint through meaningful religious ceremonies.

This annual pilgrimage is a beautiful tapestry of devotion, tradition, and community, making Les Saintes Maries de la Mer a center of color, sound, and spiritual connection.
Itinerary

Day 1 , May 22

Welcome to France!

Our pilgrimage officially begins today at 3 PM in the conference center of our hotel. We encourage you to arrive a few days early to explore other parts of France, including Marseille, the town where we start our journey.

We will gather for a Welcome Orientation at 3 PM in the hotel's conference center. To ensure you are well-rested and ready, we recommend arriving at least the day before the orientation.

In the evening, we will come together for a beautiful opening ceremony to mark the beginning of our sacred journey.

We look forward to sharing this transformative experience with you.

Day 2 , May 23

Pilgrimage to Grotte Ste Baume

Opening our hearts to listen to our Sister Magdalene's guidance, we will climb the beautiful old forest of Grotte Ste Baume, where the ancient grotto of Mary Magdalene lies embedded in the side of the mountain. This astonishing cavern cathedral, carved into the mountain, is the cave from which Magdalene is said to have ascended, surrounded by thirty angels. Legends tell that Mary Magdalene lived here during the last years of her life. Royals and nobles visited this remote cliff sanctuary, making the pilgrimage up the hill. This act of devotion to Mary Magdalene was so popular that a “Royal Road” was created to ease the journey.

The beautiful landscape leading us to the holy grotto was called “Mother Dragon” by the Celts. As we climb the Royal Road, our intention is to activate within ourselves the balance of the Divine Feminine (Magdalene) and the Divine Masculine (Dragons).

We look forward to sharing this transformative experience with you.

We than depart to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to celebrate with the Gypsies the Maries: Maria Magdalena, Marie-Salome, Marie-Jacobe as well the Gypsies Patron, Sara (the beloved child of Maria Magdalena and Jesus).

The Enchanting Pilgrimage to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer

Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer—the 'Saint Marys of the Sea'—is a picturesque fishing village nestled on the south-central coast of Mediterranean France in the Camargue region of Bouches-du-Rhône. This ancient site, venerated as holy by Celts, Romans, Christians, and more recently, the Romani Gypsies, holds a rich tapestry of history and legend.

A Sacred Legend. According to local lore, after the resurrection of Christ, Mary Magdalene, Marie-Salome, Marie-Jacobe, Lazarus, and several other disciples were forced to flee the Holy Land by boat in 45 AD. Their perilous journey across the Mediterranean ended near what is now Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. While the legend does not specify the subsequent fate of all passengers, Marie-Salome and Marie-Jacobe became venerated figures among the local populace.
The village church enshrines three revered statues: those of Marie-Salome, Marie-Jacobe, and Sarah-la-Kali. The origins of Sarah-la-Kali are shrouded in mystery, with varied beliefs surrounding her identity. Some believe she was a powerful local queen who welcomed the Holy Land travelers, while others suggest she might have been an ancient pagan goddess or a black Egyptian servant of Christ's mother, Mary. There is also a compelling belief that Sarah was the child of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, carrying the Holy Bloodline.

The Pilgrimage of the GypsiesEach year on May 24 and 25, Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer hosts the Pèlerinage des Gitans, or 'Pilgrimage of the Gypsies'. In the weeks leading up to the festival, thousands of Romani people converge upon the village from all over Europe, transforming it into a vibrant hub of celebration, dance, and feast.

May 24th: The Arrival of the Saints. On the afternoon of May 24th, pilgrims fill the church and crowd its surroundings, eagerly awaiting the descent of the saints' statues. The statues of the two Marys are first lowered from their high storage place in an ancient reliquary. As the relics descend, the pilgrims, driven by religious fervor, reach out to touch them, believing this act brings healing and protection from misfortune.
Next, the statue of Sarah-la-Kali is brought forth from an underground crypt. Carried on the shoulders of the Romani people and accompanied by jubilant pilgrims, Sarah is taken in a grand procession to the sea. Upon her return to the church, Sarah, along with the two Marys, is venerated throughout the night by the passing pilgrims.

May 25th: The Procession to the Sea. The following morning, on May 25th, the statues of the two Marys are placed in a boat and taken in a grand and colorful procession into the sea. This ceremony marks the culmination of the pilgrimage. In the afternoon, a farewell ceremony is held for the saints, after which the gypsies begin to depart. The village of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer then returns to its tranquil existence.

Join the Pilgrimage

Join us in this profound spiritual journey to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Experience the deep-rooted traditions, the vibrant celebrations, and the unwavering devotion of the Romani community. This pilgrimage offers a unique opportunity to connect with a rich spiritual heritage and witness the living legends of the saints in a setting of extraordinary natural beauty.

The Gypsies, who are they ?

The Gitans  If the name "Gitan" is given in France to all of the populations of gypsy origin, it legitimately only belongs to one sole group, by far the most numerous and the most established in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Spain had been for a long time their favored country: their family names have kept reminders of it, just like their dialect: the "kâlo", unfortunately dying out... The women are very dark haired, the men have dark skin. They call themselves either "Catalans", or "Andalusian", according to their principal place of settlement. They number dozens of thousands in the South of France, where some have definitively settled since many years ago, even several generations. But there are also Gitan shanty towns whose population has increased tenfold with the arrival of Gypsies from North Africa. It was the Gitans who gave Spain the best of Flamenco, and also the famous dancers (Luisillo, Imperio Argentina, Carmen Amaya, Lola Florès and La Chunga), as well as generations of great toreros. And to France, an inspired guitarist: Manitas de Plata.

The Roms These are the most easily recognizable, as the women continue to wear the traditional multicoloured skirts that fall all the way to their feet, and, when married, a scarf tied around their heads. The richest sport necklaces of gold coins, which make up the tribe's treasure. Many say life is an adventure, while the men are tinkers, coppersmiths or gilders. These professions prompt them to reside in industrial suburbs, notably in Paris, Lyon and Lille. This is the group that has most jealously preserved its original aspects: the language (close to Sanskrit), the traditions, the legends. After crossing Central Europe, the Roms are today spread out around the world, from Canada to Australia to South Africa.

The Manouches The Manouches (and their cousins, the Sinti), scarcely distinguish themselves. The poorest are basket makers, and have kept their horse-drawn caravans; others are fairground sellers or iron gatherers. The Manouches stayed for a long time in Germany and bear Germanic names (ex: Django Rheinardt); the Sinti have retained the mark of their passage in the Piedmont (ex: the circus family Bouglione). Both have a veritable passion for music, and it is from amongst them that the famous tzigane orchestras recrute their virtuosos.

After the close of the festivities and touched by Sara's Code of Light we leave the beautiful and magical Mediterranean energy to overnight at the holy land of the Cathars. Sweet Dreams!
Day 5, May 25

Transformed by this unforgettable experience we continue our pilgrim to the Heart of the Cathar Country. The trip will be approx of 4 ½ hrs, so we will be ready to retired after check in. Sweet Dreams!

The Cathars, the peaceful ‘heretics of the Languedoc’ of Southern France, who were them?

The Cathars called themselves Pure Ones after the Goddess known as the Pure One, their term for the Virgin Great Creator Mother Mary (meaning ‘love’). The reason the Church resorted to the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Cathars most certainly had to do with their alternative views about Jesus.

They claimed to possess a secret Book of Love (Mary, TARA). This mysterious manuscript is attributed to Jesus who gave it to John the Divine. It was transmitted through the centuries until the Knights Templar and the Cathars adopted it. The Book of Love was the foundation of the Cathar Church of Love or Amor (the reverse of Roma).

The existence of this lost (or hidden) gospel was revealed when the Catholic Church subjected the Cathars and Templar (in 1308) to torture. Its contents were a secret skill (symbolized by the Templar skull) said to grant one the ability to control the forces of nature and to transform ordinary human blood into that of the wise, holy and pure blood of life of the immortal Illi. It is equated with the Holy Grail.

The Jesus Code

According to Catharic belief, one object of Earth life was to make over the human body as a worthy vehicle for the light of the Holy Spirit (love). The point was to know the Grail not as a cup but as a process. Jesus was its modeler. Insight into this teaching radiates from the name of the Cathar’s home, the Languedoc. Named after the pre-Flood language system the Cathar priests claimed Jesus preached in—the Language of Oc (possibly short for occamy, a corruption of alchemy) -- this place name is Cathar Jesus code.

Webster’s says ‘Oc’ is the root of octo, 8, and ocular, the eye. A related Egyptian word, Ak, means ‘light’, and aker means ‘light being’. Ak-hu is the archetypal Cosmic Man of Light, or ideal archetype of humanity found in a host of Hermetic and Gnostic teachings, whether Egyptian, Jewish, Christian or Islamic. As Mircea Eliade notes in Shamanism, among the Iglulik Eskimos, who were driven out of some unknown homeland, a sequence of initiations concludes with the ang-ak-oq (virtually the same word as Languedoc or L’ang-ak-oq), meaning ‘lightening’ or ‘illumination’.

This angakoq, writes Eliade, consists of, “a mysterious light which the shaman suddenly feels in his body, inside his head, within his brain, an inexplicable searchlight, a luminous fire which enables him to see with both eyes, both literally and metaphorically speaking, for he can now, even with closed eyes, see through darkness and perceive things and coming events which are hidden from others.” The emphasis here is on eyes and light.

Enlightenment is exactly what the Cathars claimed they received from the highly symbolic Language of Oc. As an investigative mythologist, it is of great interest to me that the Egyptian hieroglyph of the heron/phoenix, , the ‘bird of light’ (akh), so closely matches the stylized fish glyph of Jesus , though it predates him by millennia. In addition, these two symbols are structurally identical to, the mathematical sign sometimes used for infinity, which spells OC. It is the root for ‘octo’ or 8. These symbols suggest a continuous transmission of knowledge of the secrets of light. By William Henry

Day 7, May 27

After a restfull night, we gather in circle to open our hearts and welcome the transmissions of love and light we are about to receive. In each step of our pilgrimage we create new levels of a vibrational field, and each level takes us to our true self, the Cosmic Man/Woman of Light.

In this loving field we welcome my dear friends Sus Krassel and Kaj
Lilliendal, our guides to high levels of awareness. Sus and Kaj have dedicated over 15 years of their life's searching, studying and observing the hidden messages left by the masters builders of Maria Magdalena church.  Their book,  Rennes-le-Chateau, Maria Magdalena and the Master Builders, will take you through a journey of  sacred and secrets,  left for those like us, willing to take a leap of faith and follow the call of our inner voice, a voice that knows we are ready to rise.

I higly recommend you to read their book in preparation for our time with them. There is so much to learn and experience during our 3 days with Sus and Kaj, the more you prepare, the more you will be able to received.

Many of you have watched the movie,
The Da Vinci Code (if you haven't I recommend) and have heard their short interpretation about the Rennes-le-Chateau, Mary Magdalena Church.  This morning we will explore and learn all about it through the 15 years of Sus and Kaj studies. The life of  Sauniere and its mysteries, getting a sense of the place and its history, an important introduction before we walk through the portals of initiations hidden in small details.

The afternoon is dedicated to a presentation called “The House of Wisdom” through  Sacred Geometry, Leylines, Standing Stones, Sound and Light, Symbols, Myths, Legends, Stories and Initiations we will start to better understand how the masters of the past lived and connected with the Divine and how we can enter through the portals.

Day 8, May 28

Early morning, before Maria Magdalena Church is open to the public, we return for our Sound work (avoiding to disturb other visitors later).

This morning of Initiations will lead us to our own inner Grail as we enter the dimensional door ways of light, now no longer hidden from us, and experience our own inner awakening. Vera, Sus and Kaj will be there, to assist and support.

After a lovely lunch we return to our final moments at the Church. We will spend quality time in silent meditation to  integrate and attune deeper to all we received and with a Grateful heart we depart.

Evening Circle : Under the magical skies, ancient myths, sacred land and healing sounds, we will enter the realm where the Healing Music of the Heart will seal our journey of remembering our true self and embody our Divine Self.

Time to process, integrate, rest. Sweet Dreams!
Day 9, May 29

The Portals of Light continue to open for us, today through the Gorges des Galamus. In the heart of the Pyrenees mountains, the Gorge De Galamus is an amazing cavernous slope with a sparkling river beneath balconies of stone. Serpentine twists in the road reveal spectacular views of the natural limestone caves. Celtic Shamans lived and meditated in these caves, believing to be portals to the Otherworld. Here we will partake of the special energies in this intriguing sanctuary, with its enigmatic magic square carved in stone and shrine dedicated to Maria Magdalena.

Fontaine des Amours
It's beleive that Maria Magdalena baptised people and initiationed them into early Christianity - Jesus Christianity. At Le Benitier which means - Baptismal Font a place where two rivers meet, the Sals and the Blanque, we will connect with the energy of these holy waters and its medicine, and allow its pure properties to bless and baptise us into our new path of Priest/Priestess of Maria Magdalena and the Dragons.
Picture
After lunch, we complete our sacred journey through a meditative  walk leading us to The Chair of Isis and The Chair of Osiris. These old chairs have been placed on powerful points of energy in a big sacred pattern around the two Rennes. One of the chairs is connected to the Earth and the other to the Heaven – Divine Female and Male.

This will be our final Initiation. Bring your vows to Maria Magdalena Christ Consciousness to walk in beauty and in integrity to the Divine Being You Are.

End of the Day, Traveling to Toulouse
Day 10, May 30

As we complete our sacred pilgrimage, having taken time out from our fast-paced, stressed lives, we have been given many possibilities for a new future. We have received an abundance of blessings, inspiration and initiations, beyond what we imagined to be possible. We have released and transcended past, limiting beliefs, thereby freeing ourself to live into a new future.

A Course in Miracle's defines a Church as those that are joined In the mind as Christ Consciousness. Our Ceremonies: Initiations, baptism, and anoiting, guided us to the knowning and being part of Sara's Code of Light and Maria Magdalena Priestesshood. We are now a congregation and our Heart is our Temple where Love and the Divine Feminine and Masculine abide beautifully balanced.

Our journey has taken you to experience the sacred and that which lives magically alive. You have been invited into living your life as that which you have experienced.

Safe travels!
