At 3:00 PM, we will gather in the conference center of our hotel for a Welcome Orientation, where you will meet your fellow pilgrims, Unity Spiritual Leader and your guide, Vera Lopez. Together, we will set the sacred tone for the days ahead and open the space for divine connection, intention, and communion.
As the sun begins to soften, we will come together in ceremony-- a heart-opening ritual to mark the beginning of our pilgrimage into the Spiritual Eye of the Heart.

This morning, we embark on our first sacred pilgrimage—to the revered mountain sanctuary of Grotte Ste Baume, where Mary Magdalene is said to have lived in contemplation, prayer, and divine communion during the last years of her life.
We will walk through the ancient forest known as "Mother Dragon", ascending the path once taken by nobles, mystics, and seekers for centuries. This Royal Road, carved with love and reverence, winds through trees that whisper the old wisdoms of the Earth. It leads us to a holy grotto—a sacred cavern cathedral carved into the mountain’s heart—where Magdalene is said to have ascended in light, surrounded by thirty angels.

Megon McDonough brings a lifetime of New Thought study and teaching to her role as the spiritual leader of Unity Des Plaines. As a Unity Truth Student, she has studied with some of the most accomplished and revered New Thought teachers and ministers of the last 4 decades. She became a Licensed Religious Science Practitioner in 2008. Becoming the Spiritual Leader of Unity Des Plaines feels like coming home, having been the music minister there from 2011-2019.
Alongside her long career as a professional singer, songwriter, and recording artist, Megon has for many years served as a guest speaker at Unity churches across the country, blending powerful spiritual messages with inspirational music.
