In Memory of Joan Gibson
By Vera Lopez

During these 23 years of leading spiritual journeys to Peru I had he honor to connected with the most amazing Souls. Some of them are no longer with us in this dimension. They returned home but not before leaving many lives touched and transformed by their love and beauty. One of them is Joan Gibson and I had the honor of having Joan on the Peru Spiritual Journey in July 1994.
Joan was an amazing Spirit. My memories of her during the 2 weeks we traveled together are all about gratitude. She only had eyes to see beauty and how the cup was always 1/2 full. Back then I was still working with my ‘wanting to be nice’ to everyone all the time side and Joan was truly a teacher to me. In her gentle and wise way of being, she showed me how I was doing my best at all times and that was it. Nothing was missing, all was perfect and life was good.

There is a place in my heart that will always remember this beloved friend and each time I think of her I feel she gets a loving light hug.
Joan, thank you for all the gifts you shared and the love you offered. I feel your essence every time I returned to the sacred sites we shared together. NAMASTE my sister… I trust you are loving your journey through eternity. Love You! V |
A Special LetterI received this note from Joan’s life parter:

Joan Gibson passed away in May, 2010 after a 2 1/2 battle with ovarian cancer.
So as Joan said many times in the last few years: Life is what happens while you are making other plans.
I also hope you know how significant our trip to Peru with you was for us, and each of us personally. At Joan’s funeral, I told the story of Joan coming back from Peru to her office at the University the next day. After a couple of hours her assistant came in to see if there was anything she could do for Joan since she had not heard anything from Joan’s office. Joan waved her hand over the desk and said: ‘This is all so irrelevant.” Needless to say her assistant backed out of the door without another word.
